Box Patties With Mint Margarita

Box Patties- For happier Iftaris

If you wish to try something fun, crunchy and flavorsome, here is box patties recipe that will make you drool all over it. Crispy from the outside and gooey deliciousness from the inside, this box patties recipe is a winner amongst adults and kids equally. Prepare them for iftari and make your ramzan luscious.

Ingredients Card:

Chicken (fillets)                   2

Salt                                      To taste

Black pepper powder                    ½ teaspoon

White pepper powder                    ½ teaspoon

Oil                                               2 tablespoon

For coleslaw:

Cream                             2 tablespoon

Maynise                           2 and ½ tablespoons

Black pepper powder        To taste or 1 teaspoon

White pepper powder        To taste or ¼ teaspoon

Salt                                 ¼ teaspoon or to taste

Cabbage (bund ghobi)      1 cup

For Assembling of Box Patties:

Maida (All-purpose flour)               2 tablespoons

Water           1-2 tablespoons or as required

Samosa patti 10-12

Chili garlic sauce ½ tablespoons

Mozzarella cheese (grated) 1-1 tablespoons

Green onion (hara piyaz) For sprinkling (optional)

Cooked chicken

Coleslaw

Eggs 2

Salt ½ teaspoon or to taste

White pepper powder ½ teaspoon

Black pepper ½ teaspoon

Bread crumbs 1 Cup or as required

Oil for frying

Directions:

Take a fork and prick chicken fillet from both sides.

(Tip: The pricking will help marination to seep inside the chicken and make it flavorsome)

Now, sprinkle it with salt, black pepper and white pepper on both sides and let it sit for 20-25 minutes.

(Tip: The more time you leave it for marination, the more delicious it will taste)

Next, take some oil, heat it and shallow fry the fillets until cooked properly. Once done, cut them into your required size or simply shred it for the filling.

For coleslaw:

Take a big bowl, drop in the cabbage and then add cream, mayonnaise, black pepper, crushed white pepper and salt.

Mix evenly and refrigerate for 30-35 minutes.

For assembling:

Mix maida with water to make a paste that will help bind the samosa patti together.

(Tip: Samosa pattis are readily available in the market)

Take samosa patti, place it horizontally, put some maida and water paste and then place another samosa patti over it vertically making a plus (+) sign.

Next add the chicken filling, coleslaw and mozzarella cheese in the middle.

Also, add some chili garlic sauce and green onion leaves and then using water-maida paste, fold the samosa patti forming a square.

Beat two eggs, add black pepper, salt and white pepper.

Dip the patties in egg and than in bread crumbs.

In a pan heat some oil and fry them until golden brown. You can deep fry, shallow fry or even bake it depending upon your choice.

The box patties are ready to be served hot with ketchup.

Additional Information:

This box patties recipe makes 6-8 patties and is mouth-watering good.

For a healthier version, bake it in the oven until crispy and enjoy!

Mint Margarita- Revitalizing and fresh

Here is a mint margarita recipe that is quick to make and most definitely cooling and thirst-quenching. Pair it up with box patties and your iftari will be delish.

Ingredients card:

Mint              15 gms

Lemon juice    2 tablespoons

Sugar           2-3 tablespoons or to taste

Black Salt (kala namak)    To taste

Soda water             250 ml

Ice cubes     As required

Directions:

In a blender add mint, soda water, sugar, black salt, lemon juice and ice cubes.

Blend until the mixture is smooth and becomes all slushy and thick.

Your mint margarita is now ready to be served.
