Crisp from the outside and soft from the inside, dumplings is one item loved by many all around the world. You might have heard of dumpling to be steamed, yes, the authentic ones are made that way. But here is a mayo dumpling recipe with an Asian twist that is surely going to satisfy your taste buds.

Ingredients Card:

For filling:

Oil                                       1 tablespoon

Chicken mince                  250 grams

Ginger garlic paste           1 tablespoon

Onion (chopped)               1 medium sized

Garam masala powder     1 teaspoon

Red chili (crushed)           1 teaspoon

Salt                                     To taste

Coriander Leaves             1 cup

Mayonnaise                       1 cup

For dough:

Maida (all-purpose flour) 2 cups

Salt                                      1 teaspoon or to taste

Oil                                        2 tablespoons

Water                                   ½ cup or as required


In a pan, heat oil, add ginger garlic paste, onion and sauté for a few minutes.

When the onion turns light brown, add chicken mince and fry.

(Tip: You can also use beef mince or replace meat with your favorite vegetable for a vegetarian version).

Now, add salt, crushed red chili and garam masala and mix well.

Keep stirring until the mice has been properly cooked, set aside and let it cool.

For preparing the dough, in a big bowl sieve all-purpose flour (maida).

Add salt and oil.

Add water gradually and knead dough which is neither too soft nor too hard.

For assembling, in a bowl mix cooked mince, coriander leaves and mayonnaise.

Take the dough, roll it out and using a cutter, cut out small circles.

Take a circle one by one, add the mice feeling in it, fold it into half and twist the corners within.

Repeat with all the small dough circles to form dumplings.

In a pot, heat up some oil and fry until golden brown.

Your mayo dumpling recipe is now prepared to be served.

Additional information:

This mayo dumpling recipe makes around 8-10 dumpling. For those who wish to make it richer in taste can also throw in some cheese.

For a healthier version, you can air fry or bake them, using no oil and enjoy every bite without having to worry about your weight.
